Samsung Galaxy Note 2

Also released to the public at Unpacked 2012 was the Galaxy Note 2. A lot of people were expecting this to be released at IFA 2012 and Samsung didn’t disappoint.

I got some hands on time with this amazing device (you can see some of my videos on here for some of its software features).

My overall impressions on the device are that I WANT ONE! It’s really great for creative people and I’m forever drawing so would love to get my hands on one to have a bit more play time. There’s also some really fantastic software features (see my post here: http://staceysamsungmobiler.blogspot.co.uk/2012/08/galaxy-note-ii-feature-videos.html)

As one of the Samsung Mobilers for the UK I was lucky enough to be invited along to IFA 2012 where I got to attend Samsung’s Unpacked event and also report on the IFA event itself.

Firstly I should explain that through my time with Samsung I have become quite interested in photography and cameras in general….currently I am using my first DSLR which is a Canon 1100D which is great for beginners. However after seeing what Samsung pulled out the bag I may have to invest in the new Galaxy Camera!

IMG_2686IMG_2692

Call me girly….but I totally love that orange colour!

Okay onto the real meaty details, this camera has a seriously impressive spec list….it is mainly aimed at those users that aren’t quite confident enough to use a dslr but still want to take professional looking photographs!

Specs in a nutshell:

  • 16.3 Megapixel
  • 21x optical zoom (we all know digital zoom is awful…so this is great!)
  • Optical Image Stabilisation
  • 4.77” LCD HD super clear touch display (308ppi)
  • ISO Auto, 100-3200
  • 4G and 3G access….so you can share photos on the go
  • 1.4Ghz quad core processor
  • Android 4.1 Jelly Bean
  • 8Gb memory and room for an external memory card
  • Full HD 1080p video recording
  • HDMI output
  • GPS and GLONASS
  • Wifi and bluetooth
  • 1650mAh battery
  • Dimensions: 128.7x70.8x19.1mm
  • Weight 305g

So that's an impressive list right!?

Other than that the camera is a really nice bit of kit, it sports a number of “pro” modes that enable the user to create professional pictures really easily.

One such mode is waterfall trace, the following picture was taken on my dslr and as a beginner it took me ages to get the settings correct…I imagine with the Galaxy camera you could select this mode and then point and shoot and come out with a similar result

Finally as the camera shares the same processor as the one that is in the Galaxy S3 I managed to run a speed test to test it’s processing abilities….I used the Antutu benchmark app from the Google Play store:

A very similar result to the Galaxy Note II

Olympic Torch Relay Birmingham Recap

Ok so sorry this post is a little late, i’ve been MEGA busy this week!

So last weekend the Olympic Torch Relay came to Birmingham! This time, like Leeds, there was a concert held in one of Birminghams nicest green spaces …Cannon Hill Park.

This time there was a number of different acts on and from the very outset it seemed like Birminghams teenage girl population was out in force to see The Wanted, Loicke Essien and Morning Parade perform onstage….i even heard rumours that some of them had been queuing up since 6am!

As usual the three major Olympic Sponsors were there to have a bit of fun with the public!

During the day I did some promoting for the Galaxy S3 but then I also spent a lot of time exploring the panorama feature that is found on the Galaxy s3 and Galaxy Note…myself and the other mob!lers created some really cool effects! What do you think? Smile

We haven’t been cloned really!!! hehehe!!!

Finally in between taking silly pictures and dancing around Canon Hill Park, i managed to grab a Galaxy S3 owner in the wild and gave her a quick interview. If you watch carefully you might even pick up some hints on how to create pictures like the ‘clone’ ones above!

Anyway guys and girls, that was my last torch relay post….keep your eyes peeled in future for posts from the Olympic Games and also perhaps IFA in Berlin!

Open-mouthed smile

Olympic Torch Relay Leeds- Recap Part 2

So yesterday I got back from Leeds, where thanks to Samsung I was able to attend the Olympic Torch Celebration at Temple Newsam Park.

As covered in my previous blog post all of the major sponsors were out in force with different freebies and activities for the general public, however the main attraction was what was happening on the main stage!

My favourite bit of the day was the Samsung Galaxy Tour performance which was hosted by Twist&Pulse alongside the Samsung Street Team and an amazing performance from Diversity!

Samsung had already handed out tons of the popular Bam Bam sticks (named as such because when hit together they make an almighty racket) and everyone in the crowd was using theirs along to the beat of the music! It was quite a sight to behold!!

The sun came out when Twist&Pulse jumped on stage, here’s a quick shot showing what they do best…DANCING!

When the Samsung Street team joined them on stage the crowd went wild! (FYI the phone in the bottom left is a Samsung Galaxy S2 Winking smile)

Finally Diversity took to the stage and performed a crazy awesome set, that was full of stuff i’ve never seen anyone do before…including becoming a human transformer and using their legs as a catapult to shoot tee shirts into the crowd! How mental! (See video below)

A final shot for him to remember the crowd by….taken on a Galaxy S3 obviously! Winking smile

Anyway as it was such an awesome day, I decided to take a video of the highlights for you guys! Enjoy!!
